Quick one guys, will an alternator from a same age 4.6 fit a 4.0?

Just overhaul your existing alternator, new diode pack and brushes, simples. assuming it's mechanically OK of course.

sounds like a handy kit to have, can you but them?? had a google with no luck

Why not? Not mechanically proficient to mess around with alternator innards!

It will work I'm 99% sure as it fits the same way provided it is same type Thor or gems it just might be a higher amperage due to the higher spec on the 4.6 however this will help keep the battery topped up.
