As per title really!! Got an 89 classic (petrol) and had alternator failure on Tues. Need car back on road for monday! Anyone got one near Wrexham/Chester?? Could travel further if needed??

Thanks!!

Your best bet would be to get your alternator refurbished, go to a local auto electrician and get yours tested to make sure there isn't a dead short in the main armature then it is just a case of new regulator, brushes and slip rings and maybe bearings if necessary.

Do you know what type of alternator you have? what output is the alternator?

Forums are not about how much you post on them... I used to be a moderator on several forums years ago, and it the narrow minded attitudes of some people that end up ruining a forum. I've simply asked for help to sort my Range Rover out, and if you can't be bothered helping, keep your comments to yourself please. Thanks.

Forums are about collectively pooling information and resources to help out and offer advice to like minded fellows...

A forum will only work if people contribute, offer help, post results and ask questions....

If we don't take selfless time out of our day(s) to answer questions and contribute to help others, the forum wouldn't get anywhere - it is the product of input from others and not to just be taken from but also added to and grown....it is the only way we can move forwards.
