Kind of new here, but have been reading posts for a while. I have an '04 RR HSE with the 4.4 V8. My plan is to restore it as I think it will be a future classic and really love the looks of it. I've already done a bunch of things to it, and now I've met an issue that I can't wrap my head around as to what isn't working. The situation is as follows, the car will either have situation 1: a rough idle that feels like an old diesel (probably a cylinder missfiring or something like that) but have the transmission shifting perfectly OR situation 2: it'll change to the opposite combination where the transmission gets rough/jumpy but the engine runs smoothly.
Any ideas about what could be the cause here? Some kind of electric issue? Vacuum issue?
I do have a GAP IID, so if there are any things I should be looking into please let me know.
