West wing I think
Hello all. This seems one of the less-clicky, more-friendly forums I've visited. I'm presently having a laugh identifying the missing magazine from my alpine changer. I have a 2002 p38 westminster. The identifying numbers on the changer are XQE 100240. I would say that everything is untouched and as fitted originally. I've spoken to suppliers who won't commit to supplying a magazine which'll be sure to fit. Any tips/hints as to suppliers and identity of a magazine which'll fit? Thanks in anticipation. Great, interesting forum. regards P.S

Yep. Tried the queen and the pope. The issue is that no one can identify a magazine that'll be sure to fit. Identification is the first step. Of course, Landrover reckon they can supply one that'll "probably" fit for £47.60p +v.a.t. Naturally, I must rush out and buy it! The normal going rate seems £14 to £20. Thanks for the prompt response. I'll post my progress. I can't be the only one who's come across this. regards. P.S

I'm completely lost for words that LR dont know which Alpine CD changer magazine when you know which part number it is!

To be honest, through my dealings with official LR dealers so far, they can be totally un-interested in their customers from an after sales point of view.

If your not interested in a 2006 RR Vogue for £60K, they arent bothered getting out there leather comfy chairs.

Any LR specialist garage can purchase any official LR parts and that should include your CD magazine.

Try that....

I think what I SHOULD'VE said was I wasn't convinced that the lad who was scanning the exploded-parts monitor knew which actual changer I had. He couldn't come outside the door to look in the boot. I wouldn't want to misrepresent LR dealers' ability to identify parts from a computer program. At any rate, affordability aside, £47.60p +vat is just unreasonable. Also, my question to the forum should have read "can anyone help me identify for certain the magazine which fits my changer to be obtained from sources other than a LR dealer". On the dealer issue, the feelings that only £60000 punters are welcome are certainly generated from my "local" dealer who are 40miles away. Thanks again for the interesting responses. regards P.S

In the LRO magazine this month theres an ad for a complete CD changer for £60 compatible with LR head units. Migght be worth giving them a call. Ive left the mag at work but will post their details if you like.

That'd be nice of you. I suppose I should be taking such a periodical to qualify as a bone fide range rover addict. As it happens I've ordered a magazine from ebay after the seller promised to take it back if it didn't fit. It was represented as fitting all range rovers up to 6 years old. It'll be arriving today or tomorrow, I suppose. Watch this space. I went to Rhyl car boot sale yesteday and, would you believe, there were two changers-1 6bay and i 12bay- both clarion and complete with magazine. Damn !!

It's arrived and it works! I really hope my experience helps avoid a bit of pain for others. £47.60p + vat! I ask you.

If I'm allowed to quote these things on this forum: [email protected] is the contact who helped me out. If I'm out of order, apologies and wipe me out. regards all. P.S
