Alot of play steering wheel, something i can do about it?

Iv got alot of play in my my steering before my wheels begin to turn, youve to turn it a good 2-3" before any wheel movement occurs; this is either way..
is there anything i can do to fix this, or is it something that comes with age...
being an 1989 landy 90..?

you will have to see if its in steering box by rocking steering linkage just before box by hand ,or in drag link ball joint below it,or track rods ends and drag link end
