I'm not 100% sure about a sailsbury axle but you can fit range rover alloys to 90/110 rear drum brakes no problem! You can't however fit them without modification to the front of an early 90/110 as the drive flange is the old deep type and is approx 10mm too deep and fouls the inside of the wheel rim. Later defenders with disks (all round) approx 92' on I believe, have thinner drive flanges and ever so slightly skinnier hubs so they fit. the easiest way is to fit wheel spacers but they are expensive, I have known people to get the wheels ground. not reccomended. its possible that the upgraded drive members from paddocks would also help but thats just an estimated guess.

So when you hear people say they simply won't fit, ask yourself if they have really tried hard enough.

I have alloys fitted to my 1986 90, I have taken my front drive members down with a lathe slightly. I can already hear people shouting you have weakend the drive train ect ect,. It was done as an experiment, and when I heared a lovely crunching sound I also believed that it had failed, but to my amazement the inner drive shaft failed before the modded drive member so no complaints from me.

Alloys will not fit series vehicles as the drive member is too large.

hope this helps.

Jai
