Alloy Wheels

Hi,
Has anyone out there got the answer I need. PLEASE.
Can I fit 1999 Freelander Alloys to my 2001 Freelander TD4 if I use 5mm or 10mm spacers.
I know this must have been asked thousands of times, but I am desperate as I have a chap waiting for me to pay him for a set.
And if they will fit with spacers, which would be preferable 5mm or 10mm?
Please help.

I've an older set that I run on my 2004 Freelander. They're only winter wheels so I don't mind running them for a couple of weeks given the potential extra wear on the wheel bearings.

I ran 205/80/16 (mucho big) and 9mm spacers and there was enough clearance around the front calipers/springs and rear drums/springs.

Personally I'd keep hunting for wheels suitable, with the right offset.

With 205/80/16's my speedo is undereading by 17% and it is really noticeable.

It's funny how I read this post the day after.....
Trying to fit older alloys to my 2003 td4..
What a joke.... my mate had with me
He let me use his tyre machine....
I had a set of 15 inch alloys. Some having better tyres than on my steel wheels.
So i broke them all down as the tyres were the same size... built a great set of alloys and tyres..
Fitted them to the car... then.... bump... the front caliper stands too proud but about 6 to 8mm and the wheel won't turn...
Just so I could get home.. I had to rebuild the steels and put them back on..... not impressed - especially as the breakers in Hull said they were off a 53plate td4....

If you are talking about the 15" alloys then no you can't. The earlier ones won't clear the brake callipers. A later set of 15" alloys will and they can be identified by them having small wholes cast / drilled - located on each 'spoke' near the wheel nuts.

And the later 15" alloys are 6 spoke and the early ones 5 spoke

Those calculators have your original tyre size giving you a 100% accurate speedo reading, when usually it reads 10% over your actual speed
