Good effort!

here's one I cobbled together last night under tuther thread incase it got
missed...
http://www.lrproject.com/pictures/misc/afllogo.JPG

I like silver as it show up well on many paint jobs.

Simple is definately the key though if it's to be a success. Summat easy to
spot without being a blot on some of the finer vehicles too as I guess it
wouldn't be adopted then.

Is is a deliverate typo but when ever anyone seems to refer to AFL it always
comes out ALF myself included.

:)

I went for a nice simple one:

http://www.zen68482.zen.co.uk/landy/P1010003_Small.JPG

Its silver text. Nice and cheap to do too and I reckon it does the
job!

Lee - If you fancy an identical one then I actually have another
sticker the same that i bought to go on the 101 but i've just realised
that silver text wont work very well on silver paint!
I shall buy one in black at the next show i visit.

How about this;

http://djmorgan.org.uk/extra/afl.gif

plain text, so it's easy to read. With a photoshopped muddy tyre image,
(standard SIII steel wheel).

Would probably work well in silver. The image looks like a tyre to me,
but I've been staring at it for 20 mins, any thoughts?

Agreed. But does the 'A.F.L.' add anything? I think it's better
without it.

Looks brill Lee but I can't print silver- it can be done but its not a
normal printer option.Of course we could always wire wool the paint off
underneath.down to the ally...............maybe not. I'll play some more
when I find my paint programme I've accumulated so dammed many mostly pants
supplied with hardware stuff.
I still fancy something that looks 'green ovally' maybe with a wider
border tho' the text on a ( black) bumper would be nice and obvious as Tom
has done . Its got to be something that is spotable from 20yds+ even if not
readable until you get closer.
Spare tyre covers are ideal I may show Vicky
http://www.lrproject.com/pictures/misc/afllogo.JPG
shes been wanting to do something airbrushy that could be just the
ticket.Lets have some more to look at then.

I agree with the agreement ... I think.

I'd like to see the whole thing on an oval background.

I just tried it as a simple greyscale ... no AFL, simple black, oval
border with white background ... much simpler to repro and still looks
good to me.

Maybe I have simple tastes ...

looks like a land rover wheel.

Austin Shackles. www.ddol-las.net my opinions are just that

horn, No more shall rouse them from their lowly bed."

I like that one as well. It has the oval and the angled lines. What it
lacks is green, how about reversing the silver and green? So the air
brushing is silver and the text body green.

Getting picky the focus on the nuts seems to have gone but that might be
a feature of enlarging a smaller image?

I'd probably play with a wider silver border, putting the
ALT.FAN.LANDROVER text truly along the ovals center line and using a
smaller font for "Just a bunch of Land Rover nuts" so it doesn't have to
wrap. Note that this is playing to see the effect...

Surely the nuts should all be rusty, with rounded corners ?

In that case don't forget to put notches in the flats so it looks like some
rock ape has chiselled the buggers off.
I'm convinced that my Disco has been worked on by King Kong's less
talented brother every ruddy drain or filler plug has required the impact
driver or long bar.Good god I understand the paranoia about drips off the
drain plugs but the fillers too??? glad everything drainable has now been
done and refilled next its "Mig Time".
I'm going to try printing"blackovalz1blckback.JPG" have you done this
without the green shadow by any chance I think with the density of the black
the green might bleed difficult to tell and the film aint cheap to practice
on

No I imported it in but I'm sure with a bit of time - in the week I can make
it disapear. If not I can always fill the bacground the same colour then
recolour it all black... watch it not work though!
