Alarm

Hi guys this may have been covered before,but the problem is i have a little welding job to do on the disco but when i disconect a battery lead the alarm sounds is this normal and how do i get the battery of without being the alarm sounding thanks.

if disco 1 switch ignition on then off remove earth terminal off within 15 seconds helps to loosen it first

To be honest I would expect my alarm to sound once or twice if someone tried to disconnect the battery - it does on both Land Rover alarms I have and also on a Toad on another car, it also sounds when the battery is reconnected
