alarm sounder/alarm fault

Trawled through the old posts but cant seem to find the answer to the following
Its a 1996 rangerover manual.
when i start the car i get no usual internal peep peep and then i get alarm fault. Motor starts no problem . The electronics must be ok as it came up low key fob,changed the batteries and it doesnt come up now.
Possibly some one may have disconnected the becm sounder but where is it located so I can check it over.

Alarm fault is often the volumetric sensors. the sounder is loacatedbetween the battery box and the fuse box on the inner wing. If it's the Bbus version, could be the internal battery has come to the end of it's life.

Many thanks is that the one that "cheep,cheep" if the door is slightly open ,etc as thats the one that isnt chirping so to speak

No, that one is in the dash.

It's on the back of the instrument binnacle and can simply be unplugged with no other effects.
