alarm problem

hi guys
i have got an freelander 2003 3door se. but when i turn alarm of with key fob and then open the door to get in it the alarm light on the dash starts frashing and beeping. this only happens every so oftern and not all the time.. i have checked everything is shut and the alarm never goes off . well never sounds like it has.
please if u have any idea on what it could be please let me no

have you tried changing the battery in the remote ? The car bleeps on unlocking when the battery in the fob is going.

Mine did this the other morning and wondered what it was. It's amazing what you stumble over at the most coincidental times.

new fob battery time.
