so with the hot weather I decided to get the aircon re gassed. Typically it made no difference. It's holding pressure but still not blowing cold, any obvious places to start looking for the fault?

You should hear it kick in, I have a P38, so dont know where yours is, also how do you know its holding pressure? did they tell you that when you was gassing it up?

Hmm can't think I've heard it kick it but not checked. Yes was told when it was being gassed up but it's a friend who did it so trust his word

If it was kicking in you could look at your rev counter, it would go down as it kicked in (500 rpm ish)

what I am trying to say is, was it one of them gas bottles from Halfords? you should have put it on a machine then you can see if its holding pressure/gas and not leaking

Sounds like it is... but someone will help out just to check, otherwise if it is, you have to degas it, and put a new pump in and gas it again, go to halfords next it, if it doesn't work they give you your £££ back and do a leak test

Well degassing isn't an issue I can get it done free anyway. Just need to know if I definitely should be replacing the compressor or if it could be something causing those symptoms

I think it is the comp, if it was kicking in and out you would see the revs dropping and going back up as it cut out again

Gone to re-gas my 2005 td6 today and had same problem however I know my compressor is definitely not kicking in, the clutch engages but the pully is stuck...
Can I take the compressor off and free the pully or do I need to replace???
Cheers

Dont know but wait till someone who knows more comes along to help, dont know about the wiring loom issue

Not seen anything about the loom, the belt goes round (screeching) but the pully is stuck tight.. I'm hoping taking the compressor off and gently persuading the pull to turn again will do the trick

Sounds like your comp has seized, it can do that if pag isn't put in with the A/C I think pag acts as a lubricant
