Hear is a strange one for you
while taking the old hoses off to replace them with silicone ones I noticed the middle of my Air Temp sensor is bent to one side .I don't know if this makes any difference and if it does is it possible to bend it back so that it is in the middle again ? I do not know what it is made of or even if they are made that way , if it is metal at least I could try and straighten it a little or should I leave well alone

Think there is a similar set up to the MAF in that there are sensitive parts in amongst the housing (that sits in the 'airflow' post turbo) so there would be a good chance of damaging if, if its not already damaged. I can't remember if its meant to be 'bent' it's been a while since I was probing around there. Should be a 5volt reference wire, ground, signal and maybe another ground for signal...if you back probe them and all seems well then it may be okay but reading slightly differently that it should if not in the correct place....easiest solution is to as Nodge!!

Don't prope about trying to straighten it. You'll only damage it and stop it working. If the sensor is off centre, it won't make any difference to the way it functions. ;)

Thank you lads as always , on a side note I got the fault codes checked and there was about eight but was told it wasn't as bad as it looked , it was down to , to things air and fuel .He thinks it was when I was fitting the crank case breather and egr valve I might have disturbed something .Being as it looked as if no one had been under the bonnet for a long time I can believe it . While the engine was running he checked the parameters of all the sensors etc and said they were all OK then cleared the faults and said if the light comes on again to bring it straight back .So I have fitted the silicone hoses and fingers crossed the light has not come on:rolleyes:
