Hi All, So my first Range Rover an L322 TD6 3.0 (2006 BMW Diesel Engine) has turned out to be a challenging purchase! After a couple of weeks of smooth running the Normal Height Only warning would appear but promtly disappear after restarting the car it cleared for a few days left in normal height but then reappeared along with Suspension will lift when system Cooled and ultimately Suspension Fault Max Speed 30mph and lowering to bumpstops! After a very slow bouncy ride to a garage I managed to get the fault codes with a generic reader:
C1130 Air Spring Air Supply
C1131 Air Supply
C1A10 Pressure fluctuates when system inactive
C1A20 Pressure increases too slow when filling reservoir
U0416 Invalid Data from vehicle dynamic control module
After reading many forum posts i'm guessing it's an Air Compressor or a leak... until I noticed the 4x4info screen when it was at bumpstops showed 3sensors out of range but the rear passenger sensor reading a different height (see image) could this cause suspension failure? The car has since risen off bumpstops but is stuck in between access and normal height with the compressor running for 30seconds with Vehicle lifting slowly warning before cutting off and no noticeable dropping at any corner overnight.
I'm hoping it might be a ride height sensor issue but guessing it could be a leak in the air suspension or at worst the air compressor! I don't really know where to start on this so any help would be great.

Not sure what the compressors are like on the L322 but on the p38 they're a doddle to fix.
It does sound like you have a leaky bag (again, not too difficult to replace) that's making the compressor work overtime and its overheating. (they have a thermal cutout in them)
The ride heights being wrong when on the bump stops sounds like the sensors need calibrating.
Again, not difficult on the p38 but not sure on the l322.
Saintv8 would probably know. (other brands are available!)

I wouldn't worry too much about air suspension, if it's anything like the p38, it's not a hugely complicated system but does need a bit of maintenance to keep it healthy but well worth it.
I've driven a couple of p38's on springs when I was looking to buy mine and its like night and day.
