Hey

air scoops do they really help with the heater / fan or is it just a nice way of filling the hard to clean places with more mud ?

also how hard is it to fit a fan system to a 300tdi and what extras / other parts do i need to change.

hello

i have fitted some air scoops look good and help a bit had to use 2 mouse mats to make a gaskget to go between cheq plate and scoop to fill the gaps but looks good.

not brave enough for the fan yet !

it helps push more air in when the fan is off i wouldnt say it is warmer my scoops are only half the hight of the regular ones look good and they do work i can only imagine full height scoops work even better

wonders indeed... my net pockets for cubby boxes just sold for £41!

mobile storage systems do them for £16 and i thought that was a rip off!

hahahahahaha :D

buy a pair of air scoops now off ebay from me (if your stupid enough to pay over £30) ;) only 8hours left.

Ha ha, was waiting fer you to jump in on this one Griff'.

& for what it's worth, the scoops are close to pointless & if you climb up on yer bonnet & wings a few times, you'll probably either trip over the scoops or crush them with yer feet.

Kenlowe's are a doddle, but read the fred on here about removing the viscous fan first cuz it can be a pig.

Actually, take that back.

If you fit the heater intake scoop backwards it might actually serve a purpose & keep some of the crud & water out of the intake pipe so the drian hole didn't silt up & in turn water wouldn't be driven into yer heater rendering it broked and useless.

They wouldn't look so 'cool' though.

:D

quick aint i? yes, watch you dont trip over them. ive nearly done so several times! also makes working over the wings/side of engine bay rather uncomfortable.

i looked at the LRX intakes at donnington cos they are lower profile, i thought i would replace mine with them... guess how much?

£60+VAT!

ofcoarse i walked away! rediculous.
