so im thinking my maf sensor is toast, no airflow at all registering on the nanaocom
but on the defender i get 4.3 to 4.4 on idle, never took it for a run and it never seemed to increase with more revs
so i have ordered a new maf sensor, to come with the air bags (other thread)
but what readings should i be getting on the nanocom?
td5 engines btw

cheers

hi

may i ask have u unplugged it to see if it makes any difference

is the egr stuck open at all

unplugged it on the disc no difference egr seemed fine no faults getting air low on the nanocom for the disco so aftr seeing
no readings on the airflow ordered new maf sensor
only asked what the values are meant to be as it shows 4.3 to 4.4 on defender and no change , never looked at the egr on the defender though

just found this for u , one of the more experienced guys should be able to see if that's right or not

as a side thought are the wires ok, not broken anywhere ??

MAF pin voltages

Pin 1 ignition on - 0.03V
idle - 2V
engine idleing- accelerate breifly - 4.4V breifly

Pin 2 Earth

Pin 3 Battery voltage.

does seem strange with not getting any reading , only thought i've got is if maybe there's a break in the wiring , continuity

what voltage are u getting from multimeter,

are they both the same engine ,if they are just wondering u could see what voltages ur getting and compare with the disco or are u able to swap the maf , alas don't know if there the same

yep, same engine ill swap the mafs round tomorrow see what i get good idea , cheers

that's good then , at least ur be able to compare the two, what volts u should get , just trying to see what the fuse number is , never know, lol

try fuse f2 / 15 amp , might as well check the basics first and that you've got voltage on the maf sensor , lol

fuse was 15 amp, all good though, changed the mafs round same result though, now the defender gets 0 and the disco gets 4.4 so looks like it is the maf, explains the black smoke on hard acceleration on the defender i think
just came across 2 codes for the ace, 45--07 low voltage from battery? and 47-07 some thing about the relay?
must be a relay on the way out battery is brand new

good to hear ur making headway , know @sierrafery is extremely knowledgeable with these

do u get the same result when u swap the relays over

ok got the maf on it 51 at idle and climbs to around 250 at 3000 revs?
air flow fault cleared from ecu and not returning but still have a stutter under heavy load, might be a low fuel or filter problem
just need to figure out the ace faults now cant find any reference to the fault codes

3000rpm on the road with throttle on the floor or how? stationary is completely irrelevant... 250 MAF under load is way too low, though the MAF reading is not enough cos if the MAP is low too it's normal and then is some power issue, undo the MAF from the airbox as air to go straight in it and go for a short ride like that to rule out a restriction in the intake, if you floor it on the road you should get MAP(manifold absolute pressure) around 230 then the MAF to be between 500-650 depending on load, use inputs fuelling not instrument mode

you can't rely on ACE fault codes shown by nanocom

ah, ok was stationary, will take it for a spin and redo it,
ok ace seems to be working fine, might need new fluid and filter change though looks black
on to the defender in a bit see what the new maf does to that
other question, the injectors, can you balance these? they seem all over the place in nanocom

ok, took it for a spin 550 to 580 on hard acceleration so air prob sorted out 1 down
took of actuator to the waste gate checked it wasn't sticking, seemed to be okt sprayed it up with wd40 and played round with is a bit sems better
but question , should i be able to move the actuator easily or should it seem solid its solid cant move it a bit,
reset it to 13 threads for now when wife gets back ill have a look at the one on the defender
if its not this its the wiring harness next then the injector seals

It must move forward about 3cm but not very easy cos the spring within the valve is quite solid. About the injector balances, how old is the injector loom? isnt there any oil in the ECU red plug?
