On my landie I have an early dashtop but not the air vents for it. I acquired some post 75 air vents which are a lot smaller, just the bit for demisting the screen. Not a problem I thought, just fill and cover the larger holes and fit later type vents...

This all went quite well.

Once it was all together I noticed a problem, Where does the air from the bulkhead flaps come out?

Not being familiar with the S3 I cant remember any other vents on the dash and I cant find any pics on the web showing any. Could somebody please enlighten me.
Thanks
Malc.

The full project

Screen vents are part of the heater only. Heater air circuit is wing/blower, trunking to matrix - through dash into chamber behind the crash padding. That has outlets in its top face for the demister vents (bits of plastic pipe which always fall off lead it to the metal plate you show (should be 2 plastic stubs on it) then to screen vents.

Front vents simply lead into the cab through fly screens. Drivers one delivers air over the back of the instrument housing and under the dash top for the drivers face. They are not part of the heater system.

any chance of some more piccies as it looks a nice lil rebuild yer doing there matey and i like the colour :D:D:D

Yes. If you click on the bit that says "the full project" It should take you to them.
The colour came about by accident, I was under the assumption that aircraft blue would be more like the colour that the forces used to paint aircraft. I for one have never seen an aircraft this blue!
Enjoyed following your thread by the way.
Cheers.

Ooooh, what happened there then??? Was you busy with the welder, and got carried away fixing stuff??
You could drill some big holes instead, might look nice as well...:D

As far as I know its an early dash panel, Pre 75, I had a look in my parts manual and that shows a panel like mine, not one with holes in like JC's and it does mention some parts changing in 75 but I had no pics of one post 75 to compare it with.
I dont know about big holes looking nice but if I could find some nice grills to go over them it might make it acceptable.
