Air Filters

Hi all.
I"m soon going to carry out a service on my 2001 X reg TD4S and I want to know what difference an expensive Air Filter will make.
On ebay I have seen Air Filters advertised from £9.00 up to £40+.
Is it worth buying the expensive one for everyday driving?
Instead of draining the engine oil I am going to pump it out, hope this will be OK.

Up until the last service (132K), I always bought genuine parts, but at over £60 for an air, fuel and 2 oil filters I got to the stage that I thought the were ripping the yellow stuff.

Last year I bought Bearmach stuff and cost under £20 for the same kit.

Don't really notice any difference since.

I change the air filter every 3000 miles as I feel that makes a difference in fuel consumption. At £3 a time I think its worth it.

i have a cone filter on my xedi and it was a £10 delivered job from ebay and i like it

Ok it doesnt make the car faster but i feel pick up has improved alot and easier to rev... also my Decat might help that aswell lol

Hi , in short no , I use motaquip filters , at a fraction of LR prices , and they do the same job
