Hi all,
I have a 93 V8 discovery, that has a knackered old Air Con Pump (according to previous owner).

I'm not particuly interested in getting the Aircon running again (open windows will do me fine), but I see that the belt that is driving the Air Con pump isn't driving anything else.

Do you think it would be OK if I disconnected the air con pump belt completly?

Cheers.
Dan

or connect a second alternator,or fix the pump, make a reservoir out of a calor gas bottle and have onboard air tools,or....

...seriously though, should be fine, and to top it off you will have those luvverly twin leccy fans upfront left running

To do that you also need to supply the AC pump with some kind of lubricate. This is normally carried in the refridgerant, but without it the pump will not last very long.

I thought the "seriously though" bit indicated I was joking, but in case it didnt....I WAS JOKING :D
