My air con was working between top ups from a DIY kit perfectly fine but after our holiday in France it was leaking badly from the condenser and drier. My garage fitted a new condenser and drier and switch as well as new fans. After recharging the system the mechanic couldn't get the compresser to start. The outside temp sensor is showing -40 so I think he must have pulled a wire off when changing the rads.
My question is would this stop the system from starting? If not does anybody have any idea what has gone wrong??
The system worked fine before the refit, albeit leaking

Thanks in advance, Graham

Think the OAT sensor is duff. Why would the aircon come on at the north pole.

OAT = outside ambient temp???

Cheers Wammers, so it wouldn't work until it was working correctly? T least it's straight forward.

Graham

Or Outside air temperature yes. The aircon won't go down to anything like -40 so it won't work because it don't think it needs to. That would be my view of it.

Quick update on this, the mechanic had nicked the wire on the outside temp sensor. when he fixed it the car had locked it out and had to be left overnight to reset. The next morning it all worked perfectly. He was advised to do this by a Landrover Dealer

Thanks for all your help
