I have a Lexus RX300, which has a roof rack comprised of adjustable
(front to back) cross bar brackets (which slide on channels and are
tightened down by hand-turnable dials) and of course cross bars. I'd
prefer to have side rails running the length of most of the roof (like
e.g. on Lexus's RX 330 for those of you who know it). Reasons are
both aesthetic and the Yakima rack components I already own.

I'm wondering if anybody makes aftermarket side rails designed to
attach to pre-existing bracket channels (as opposed to having to
drill, which I definitely don't want to do). I suspect that anything
that's channel mount (rail or bracket) is not going to be quite as
strong as direct roof mount, though I could probably concoct load
scenarios where the lateral torque of the load makes channel-mount
better.

Anyhoo, anybody know if there's an aftermarket roof rail product like
this? Or maybe there's an OEM rail set that's DESIGNED to be
removable (for aesthetics, wind resistance reasons).

Many thanks,

TK
