Hi,

Whilst sorting out some seatbelts on my newly acquired 1986 90 SW, I spotted these brackets - one either end of the bulkhead.
Anyone know what they are for ?

Thanks,

Pete

They are for fitting a dog guard. The plastic handled bolt allows the dog guard to easily be removed with no requirement for tools. Depending on the design of the dog guard you may have a similar style bracket with a rectangular slot in it mounted above the bulkhead on the roof.

See fitting instruction here to see what I mean LINK

Got it thanks - nothing on the roof though. I guess i will leave them there for the moment - they may become part of a solution to create some storage behind the bulkhead.

I’ve got them in my 90. As Mick says, they’re for a dog guard. Mine only fits to these brackets and not the roof. You will likely find a dog guard on eBay for not much money if it doesn’t come with these brackets.

Because they end up being bolted in you will find lots of dog guards second hand don’t come with them. I am looking for a station wagon dog guard currently and so far have not found a second hand one that has all the brackets!
