Hi there, new to defenders and looking for some advice. Looking for a defender 90 county... any top tips on what to look out for and also what the suitable price point is for one just for knocking about in locally - no major mileage.
Thanks in advance

2000 - 2004 will be td5 engines. The td5 was upgraded in 2002 (15p serial numbers) so is a slightly better unit. As with all Defenders look at chassis and bulkhead rot. Note, not all County Defenders are genuine counties, easy to put seats and Windows in a van. You need to take someone who knows Defenders with you when you view, there's a lot to take in and learn or you might buy a pup.

Something not right about the one in your link, seems far too cheap for starters.
Check gov online mot history for details, its had fair bit of welding in the past, might be a rotbox hence the bargain price. But for me, I'd be wary of this one.....

Thanks! Can you tell it’s had a lot of welding from the pics or do you mean “if it’s had a lot of welding”

Thanks for that... loos like you called it spot on. So moving on from this car, any tips on where to go to find a good similar vehicle? 90 County TD5...? I’m based in East Mids.

Ebay is fine you just need to do your research or better still, see if someone can go with you to view who knows defenders.
