Hi all, looked at my manuals and online, but can't find the answer to my problem, I'm hoping you can help!
Basically, been having an issue with my newly acquired landy series 3 with stalling when hot, but that's for another day. Whilst looking at the carb I've noticed the choke plate isn't closing on full pulled out choke.
Can anyone help me how to adjust the cable so the plate fully closes in real simple terms, I'm not a mechanic, but like to understand and generally have a go if I can.

Top picture is with choke plate fully closed, I have to push the mechanism to get it into this position (I'm guessing this is how it should be?)

Middle picture is with choke fully out

Bottom picture is with choke fully in

+1 the above
With the choke fully pulled out, [but not without pushing by hand to fully close] slacken the screw holding the arm [inner cable] NOW push it home to fully close - retighten screw in new position - now check you've got full travel from closed [choke out] to open [choke in]
often you don't get a perfect open to closed range so it's better to ensure you have fully open as fully closed is seldom needed. I can't remember whether the Weber has a accelerator pump but if so give it a few full strokes of the throttle before turning over. Good luck.

thank you so much for the detailed info guys. I did take the air pipe off, that's how i discovered the choke plate wasn't fully closed, just a bit .... so i thought it was set wrong. I am having problem starting from hot, after i leave it 15 mins it's ok ..... I'll have a read through that link, thanks.

well, as I've only just bought the landy, the only time I'm using it was from point A to point B. The only time i stopped was when I filled the old girl up, hence I wrongly thought it was a petrol pressure problem.
Now had it a few weeks I can confirm that it is cutting out when hot so suspect carb. I've replaced, coil, condenser, leads, rotor, dizzy and plugs. So am I right thinking only leaves the fuel pump or carb? It will start, but is lumpy and stalls as soon as I brake ..... which is fun! But noticed if I pushed the choke lever fully by had, ie: plate closed, it doesn't stall. But then the engine is warm, so shouldn't need any choke!
