ACE removal

I am going to remove the ACE in my Discovery 2 (2001) and have been advised on the parts required to take it back to standard anti roll bar etc. Can anyone tell me if i need to replace the front springs and shocks while doing this work or are they the same for cars with or without ACE ?

why are you taking it off?
what are you doing with the ACE system parts?
could i have them pleeeeeaaaaaaasssssseeeeee

Every now and then i get a the amber light come on until car is run for 10 minutes, then dont see it again. Had it plugged in and showed a couple of faults. all works but i am going to remove it before something major goes wrong. Mechanic told me some parts are up to £1500 to replace. Dont need the hassle thats all. Prob put upgraded suspension alround when i do it anyway.

:doh: ... not some parts , just one part named valve block is the most expensive and this one is quite reliable and u can replace just parts of it, the whole assy is around £750...for £1500 as that mechanic said u can retrofit ACE on a non equipped car

... IMO your problem is a pressure transducer which is £70 and maybe a filter which is £30(this one can be cleaned aswell)

I agree to bin the ACE when some expensive part goes but take into account that the conversion will cost u around £300 if u DIY...your choice though

Yeh why not wait till it goes tits up if your going to remove it ?

If you are going ahead with this ACE conversion,as I did and never looked back and don't notice a big difference in handling make sure you order the correct rear ARB as there are I believe 3 different types,depending if you have rear coil springs or airsprings

I wasn't aware i had to change rear ARB to concert from ACE to normal. Is it definitely required ?
