hello all.
I've recently put thick rubber mats in the front of my land to help quieten it down a bit. They are about a 1/4 inch thick. My accelerator pedal touches the floor at full depression and now with the mats, it isn't going it's full travel. Probably not a big problem as I don't floor it anyway but I was wondering how to adjust the pedal so that full travel is a bit off the mat. Do I just bend the pedal up a bit?

I found the pedal stop eventually wears a hole in the mat, but then it can get stuck , so you end up accelerating when you do not want to.

So I chopped a slot out of the mat. Job done.....

EDIT: just noticed this is one of those fancy vintage Landies......... I was talking about the new fangled 90 thingies....Sorry..........

Cheers

There's adjustment on the threaded bar in the linkage which should look summink like...

You should have a stop in the footwell anyway to stop the linkage being over stressed cuz it's all a bit fragile  you want full movement but no more.

Thanks all, I'll take a look see. I thought maybe I could just bend the pedal up slightly as its not much more than a bent bit of metal anyway. Adjusting it on the threaded bar sounds the best option but I'll probably need to enlist the assistance of the missus to hold the pedal in position while I adjust the bar, she'll love that. It'll give her something else to moan about cos she must be running short of topics by now.

Having recently reattached the whole throttle linkage to a bulkhead, I recommend tottot's approach, but would undo the return spring at the carb first.

Having had another look, I agree, the clamp on the pedal to link rod would be the better/easier option. What would happen if I didn't disconnect the carb return spring first?

Nothing too sinister, but once you've undone the clamp on the rod in the footwell, the spring will spin the rod round in the clamp, and you will have to spend some time getting it all lined up again ;)
