When I bought this 1996 4.6 HSE the brakes were not working at all...pedal went to the floor, zero braking, ABS, TC lights on. I had the pump tested. Result...knackered. Bought a rebuilt pump and new accumulator. Fitted it and attempted to bleed the brakes as per the LR shop manual. Bled the calipers and modulator and front and rear booster. All goes well until the point where you switch on the ignition and wait until the ABS pump stops. It is supposed to stop after a few seconds....It doesn't. It keeps running. I've changed the relays but no difference. If I depress the and hold pedal down while the pump is running it does build up pressure and after 30 seconds or so the lights go out and the pump shuts off. When I release the pedal theres a whoosh sound and the lights come back on and the pump kicks in again. It seems the be dumping the pressure back into the brake fluid resovoir. Anybody have any thoughts? PCRV maybe? Mileage is 114,000KMS
