Hey Y'all

Sorry if this has been talked about already but. For a while after heavy amounts of rain. In my 2004 Land Rover HSE sometimes I would get the HDC inactive, brake, and ABS light on. It's hard to explain the sound, but when pressing the brake you hear almost like a grinding or a cable tightening up. When you would go one or two of the wheels would lock up and eventually come unlocked. I took it in due to also needing new brake lines. I had my mechanic look at it and he said 2 wheel sensors were a little rusty. He cleaned them up and put them back in and it was fine for 2 days. Then it came back. I decided to buy a more advanced code reader. Here is what I got.

Ecu Eeprom fault

Can bus Wheel Speed signal fault

Rear left wheel speed sensor open circuit

I also noticed that there was one rear pressure circuit open and one vale relay open while all the others were closed.

New this afternoon the hdc lamp light turned on, but would go away from time to time.

I noticed the speedometer wouldn't want to go above 30 mph even though I was going around 40-45 mph.

I can clear the codes, but eventually, it comes back. After I got the brake lines and cleaned the two sensors I noticed that the grinding sound is rarer and the wheels won't lock up anymore though. Is this something difficult to fix or expensive? I feel like my MPG could be going down due to it, but I'm not 100% sure since it is winter and every day it's always cold.

Have the rings checked on the drives shafts that enter the hubs. The rust can also come from the abs rings on the Cv joint heads. 👍
Would this also work with the codes I was getting? On every start up its not thete unless I get close to 30 MPH and then it turns on. Im also seeing that it really is delayed with the speedometer. Itll take a while sometimes to catch up to what my speed is. I believe he cleaned everything but I will make sure.

Also this morning I could barely turn the steering wheel. It was pretty cold out I don’t know if it had anything to do with that or. I don’t know if that was my power steering or something to do with that sensor or something completely different.

Did you get the specifc codes?
Was the live data read for the wheel speed sensors while the car was moving?
This is all the stuff I got. I couldn't get live data because my scanner was glitching out I will try to get some tomorrow.

So you can rule out previous unless it returns, the wheel speed sensor is tied into hdc, abs and suspension.
I'd be looking live readings at the wheel sensors below and around 5mph. Look and see if there are any glitches and uneven readings on all and specifically the rear left sensor or abs ring on the Cv joint.

And change your remote fob battery😜
