Abs fault

ABS Issue update.......ok changed front airstrut yesterday air suspension fault cleared and working now. Although have a separate issue with that......

Back to ABS fault. On dash earlier today when I switched on ....FAULT hdc inactive...

Took it to a local garage who plugged his launch computer in and checked air suspension no faults.

Then checked ABS for faults....the Following FAULT codes came up.....

Temporary system deactivation
ABS Valve Relay
Transfer gearbox CAN error.

Any of you experts have any suggestions on these faults !!!!!

The temporary deactivation is just caused by battery disconnection , as I suspect is the Can error message , which just leaves the abs relay to check out

None of the faults would clear either

At very least the deactivation message should have cleared. What type of obd 2 reader is he using?

I would check your battery charge ( you can do this via the instrument test feature) then change abs relay. The stored faults shouldn't be an issue then

How do you check charge via instruments panel

It's an easy process detailed on rave , I'm using i phone so can't send you it but you should be able to find it

Battery over 12 volts in standalone and over. 14 volts on idle so I guess battery fine

Without wishing to shock...but my recurring ABS issue was down to an inherent fault in the ABS ECU...search my threads for it!

I had those....

But also due to the nature of the fault, it would also throw odd random ones too, which made it harder to diagnose...

Internet research lead me to discover an inherent fault in the Bosch DSC 5.1 ABS ECU, which is failure of the internal wiring connections!

Also when turn ignition on the time clock spins anticlockwise about 6 hrs worth ??

Hmmm, the clock is set by the Computer display (on Sat Nav models) and the MID on the HSE models

Electrical faults present are passenger mirror doesn't adjust electrically. Passenger front window operates sometimes and sometimes goes in opposite direction to switch activation

Good Lord Taximan, if I were you I would have taken it back ages ago. I've never heard of SO MANY things wrong at the same time. How much did you pay for this?

Ref ABS fault, the ABS ecu is the first in the sensor queue so when it pings, it sets off a whole lot of other sensors as the signal cant get through to them, even though they have nothing wrong. (put in my simple, non-technical layman's language)

Take the cover off the ABS sensor in the engine bay and check for little bits of corrosion residue on the spikes. I had this and despite LR dealer telling me I needed a new ABS unit at £1000, i simply gave the spikes a brush adn all was well.

Met up with saint today cleared most faults mainly old ones just a few minor ones now to look at. The car owes me 6800
