Abs failure/fault caption and battery power loss

Hi folks.

My old girl is at it again. Diesel P38 2000. I put the key in the abs pump starts to pressurise and then a second or two later the dash lights dim and complete power loss from battery. And It’s a new battery. Caption comes on abs failure. Is the abs pump shagged or could it be the relay ?
 
Fully charge the battery with a battery charger & see what happens.
When refitting be sure the terminals are clean & tight.
What brand of battery & where did it come from?

The battery is fine. I put the ignition on without starting, the abs pump sounds like it’s struggling and there is ticking coming from under the bonnet on the rightas you look at the engine. I’ve checked the battery connections and they are tight.

The battery is fine. The abs pump sounds like it’s struggling and there’s a ticking sound coming from under the bonnet. Also it’s throwing up a abs failure caption with drive at 35 etc.

Your description in your original post was "abs pump starts to pressurise and then a second or two later the dash lights dim and complete power loss from battery."
Start by eliminating the simple stuff first.
Fully charging the battery with a battery charger would be the sensible first step.
If it still won't play then you can reasonably assume it isn't the battery.

If volts drop low you get all sorts of spurious issues and error messages. That and the dimming of the dash is why people are suggesting battery or connection somewhere. Sometimes the battery terminals need cleaning and tightening, sometime the earth strap goes or it could be a problem with the fusebox.
 
Also check where the leads go into end fittings they can corrode ,you could try earthling the body /engine with a jump lead from the battery ,see if it gets better ,there's also a + connection in the fuse box with a nut on it look for discoloration due to heat and its tight;)

I’ve come to that conclusion already mate. I slapped on a power booster and it showed 13.5 v. Bypass the earth. Still the same

My brother in law will have to take a look, good with elastic trickery
