Mornin', afternoon, evening (delete as applicable) - I need help!!!!!

Got a lwb series 3 that i'm trying to get on the road and like a lot of them its a complete lash up on the electrical front as its been converted from a petrol to a diesel lump but still with the petrol wiring loom fitted and some dodgy heavy duty wiring on the starter section, where to start it you have to hold to wires together until you can feel the heat through the wire and then use the petrol ignition to start the bloody thing, then to stop it you have to stall it! :eek:

Anyway to the point of this post which is: I got a Haynes joke book with the landy but was wondering what you might recommend for a decent/cheap repair manual. :)

what diesel has it got fitted , because series diesels were stopped by a pull type bowden cable, not electrically like later tdi lumps
 
Don't mess around, just replace the whole loom.

Pretty easy on the diesel, plus you can also add some more fuses and use thinwall cables.

Took me a weekend to make one up, including soldering all new multiplugs and adding circuits for fogs, electric fan, heated windscreen etc.

No idea what diesel it has, only know that it must be a series and not a tdi, stopped by cable - bloody hell didn't know that! :eek:, any ideas where or what it attaches to?

There are two problems with that, one is that I have an allegeric reaction to spending money and also the Haynes manual is crap. :D
 
The other end fits into the steering column where the cold start (choke) cable used to be.
 
Thanks for that I have actually found the cable and its still attached and works - which is nice, now all I have to do is get the bloody electrics to work properly.:doh:
