Some clutz has knoocked my passenger side wing mirror  The main unit, electrics and glass are all fine but the back cover (black plastic) came off and broke. I have searched the internet for a replacement (new or used) but they all seem to sell the whole unit which seems crazy to buy / fit when it is only a bit of black plastic on the back that is damaged. Can anyone help / reccomend somewhere that might post one out to me. Cheers

Sam

I should say that it is for a 1999 / T reg freelander 1.8. Not evbberyones favourite model, but i love it! Just wish people would take a wider berth when i park it!:D

Hi all,
i could do with 2 of them for my td4,as mine have gone really scabby(almost like the coating has come off)They are like two big ears catching everything in the narrow lanes of Devon.
Does any one know of a cheap fix.New back covers do seem the best answer.

Hi guys i may have a couple of 2006 Mirrors spare as i'm upgrading mine for the power fold versions!

let me know if your interested :)

Thanks for that mate, but mine only a 1999 model and i think they are a different fit from 2000+ - think im gonna replace the whole unit on mine which seem to be a bout £50 used / £80 quid new. As you are changing yours, is it quite easy to replace the unit or do i need to get this done professionally.?

nah its a dodle i get the mirrors off the donor car in about 3 mins!!

1. pull off the cheater plate
2. unplug the loom
3. undo 4 screws

one mirror off! :D

I think you are able to use the new ones cos i'm sure i've heard about people upgrading the early modle mirrors with the new style. but not 100% sure!

Cheers, Steve.
