I must confess the decker panel has never been removed on my '87 so I don't know what it's like in there. I always press a length of black flexible tubing into the gap between the rear edge of the bonnet/hood & the decker panel to act as a seal preventing rainwater from filling the cavities where the bonnet hinges reside. I've often considered enlarging the (so called) drain hole on each side to allow insertion of an endoscope, but never seem to get around to the job.

Maybe subconsciously it's a case of 'ignorance is bliss' :rolleyes:

Interesting watch. Many of the same areas I've done on mine!
Definitely gasless mig. Has its uses, but much prefer gas & it looked like a lot of his work was inside.
Shame he didn't remove the rubber strip when he painted the quarter panels - easy with a piece of strong fishing line or electric wire & refit with double sided number plate tape.

I've had a couple of bits from the latter, the last being the rearmost body-to-inner-sill mount which came with a new bushing & bolt & I was very impressed.
When I'd replaced the other side a few years previously I'd fabricated it myself. Having now used the Froggatts one I'd have one of theirs every time.
Dremel with flexible extension and the reinforced cutting discs was excellent as there's no room for a full size grinder.
