i am a landy virgin with very limited engine knowledge,i am interested in a 3.5 L V8 which is for sale, for somebody that wants to learn to understand and be able to work on my engine would this 'county station' be a case of biting off more than i can chew ?

thanks very much for the offer Tel,nice one.Although i liked the csa i have decided that a V8 is too thristy for my wallet !! Shame.

v8's scare me for some reason, but im more at home with the good old 200tdi, so if any of u got a problem with your 200 give me a bell

hi thebgt,
After reading, research etc i have decided that the 200tdi is for me,now just got to find a good one, i have no time restraints which helps, just got to stay patient.I am getting a lr cos i am moving up north,in cambridge where i am now,how ever hard i tried i could not justify getting one.If i held off my purchase do u think i could get more for my money up north or does that noorth/south thing not come into play with old lr's ?

u wont regret it ;)
200tdi all the way baby :D

If you want to learn about engines Buy a 200tdi that has failed an engine emmission test. This will give you a chance to tune and get the best out of your engine .while learning at the same time , SHOULD BE A LOT CHEAPER AS EMMISSION FAILURES SCARE OFF MOST PEOPLE. ------BB

wow,interesting/good idea ! Do u think i would have to wait long before one came up ? The thought of finally getting a landy and not being able to take it out, could be very frustrating ! Definately something to consider though.
Nice one.

i love my 200tdi. i had a disco be for my defender and they have both been superb. great fo rtowing and off road. trust me ( well don't actually!) but if you cant afford a V8 ( much sobbing.... pass tissues :( ) then the 200tdi is a good bet. better than the 300tdi. for some reason several mates have lost cam belts on theres!
