Hello everyone,

I finally made it - I have a Land Rover after sooooo many years of wanting one.

I have purchased a friends 1997 TDi Auto Disco (for some mad reason they bought a Toyota Estima !)

A very, very thorough MOT this weekend has given a clean bill of health (after a quick N/S headlight swap) and I now just have to tinker with little niggles like a stubborn transfer box selector lever and an intermittent electric wing mirror fault.

Loads of obliging scrappies in our area so an extensive source of supplies too - going to have ridiculous amounts of fun.

Look forward to gleaning lots of useful info from these forum pages to keep us running sweetly.

We all live in the Rochester area in Kent, lovely and rural, but my friends work in North London so you can imagine the commute costs in the Disco.

Need a 7 seater as they have 4 children so it was the Estima as a (much) more economical runaround and I benefitted :)

Added advantage is we now have a vehicle to ferry the kids around for dance classes & clubs too when we provide a bit of babysitting cover so we all win.

Nice one Karl, but what did they do THAT for! Their loss is your gain
