Having searched I have found different answers, but would like to narrow down..
Weekend jobs are: wire up spotlights and wire in turbo gauge.
The questions are thus: what is the definitive answer to where do I take a live feed? I.e. The easiest and safest? The battery? The fuse box?.The alternator?
For the turbo gauge light..do I just tap into the speedo bulb feed? As it must be low amps? So does it need a dedicated feed?
Thanks Sax

Hi

Fitted a turbo gauge myself - no issue with tapping into existing dash light circuit

Where you putting it? I put mine above the ciggie lighter in the centre and took a feed off the light to the ciggie lighter (it was closest). if elsewhere, the lights for the speedo, fuel gauge etc. are all wired in series, so just cut in there.

Spotlights - they are going to be high current drain so really should be switched through a relay.

Assuming you want them to work independently of the headlamps/main beam think I'd be taking a feed from the battery, but make sure it's a fused feed - you can get single blade fuse holders with wires in and out for the purpose (even Halfords sell them!) but I'd suggest 20 amp minimum

Thanks station
Putting a Raptor dash for the gauge, radio and such. Have just returned from halfrauds with all the bits, but forgot the inline fuse! Good call. Still have a couple days before the weekend to get.. Also good call on ciggy lighter, didn't know mine lit up! Must be bust.. I am putting a switch in for the spots but also putting off the high beam.. Off hand do you know what colour the wire is to tap into for the high beam, to go to the relay?
Cheers

High beam - not 100% sure.

My wiring diagram says feed from indicator/flasher stalk to relay is blue

I'd flash the high beam, feel/listen for which relay is moving and check the wiring attached - far more reliable as so many Landys have had wiring played about with.
