A/c Fans

Hi All

A question?

When the engine is started should the fans at the front come on, or only when the A/C is switched on and the temperature has risen in the heat exchanger.

Or can some one explain how the hole thing is supposed to work.

The Car is a P38 4.0 Lt 1989.

I live in the Middle East so in the summer the A/C is always on.

first is your car a p38 ( 1995 and up ) or a classic range ( 1995 and down ) ?
second : if you have a p38 the fan turn on after a while not with the engine starting ...

i dont think i ever seen mine running, and air con is fine. dont they only come on when things are working flat out?
but then again its probably a lot warmer where you guys live than it is in england, especially with this crap weather we having!!
