I have some general questions that don't seem to be answered in my manual...

Some of these questions might seems dumb so go easy on me...

First what is the speed range that is safe to engage 4x4 in my 96
pathfinder?

Second what is the safe range to go back to 2 HI, do I have to stop?

Do I have to go backwards to fully disengage the hubs?

TIA

Assuming it is the same as my '95 Hardbody......

If your hubs are already engaged (i.e. you were already in 4wd, you took
it out of 4WD AND you haven't driven in reverse) then you can pretty
much throw it in 4 high at any speed. If your hubs have disengaged, you
must stop to put it in 4wd.

You can go back and forth between 4hi and 2hi at any speed as long as
the hubs are still enagaged.

Yes. Drive backwards about 10ft and you will hear them click. I never
intentionally disengage my hubs as it doesn't really hurt anything to
keep them engaged and I eventually drive in reverse anyway.

As fast as conditions or the law will let you go!

The model is different.. Do you think the 4x4 system was changed?

96 was the new model year... not hardbody... unibody I believe or something
like that... I have heard its not as strong... But I am more instrested in
how I can use the 4x4 in the snow...

Most likley it is the same system. You may want to consult your owners
manual.
