95 nissan pathfinder transmission

I backed out of my yard then drove to work and parked my vechile. I got
back into it 20 minutes later and it would not go into reverse. all
other gears work its a automatic. there was no indication of slippage or
anything. Reverse just stopped working. I changed the filter and oil.
that didnt work either. when I changed the oil there was no filings or
dirt in it. the magnet was clean. It just turned 100,000 miles besides
that every thing works fine. anybody have a soulition to this problem.
have you heard of this happning before. I had no warning;.

Did you check the shifter linkage to make sure it's actually moving
witht he shift handle?
