94 Range Rover 200TDI engine swap

My 1994 Classic Range Rover on an M plate is the very last factory fitted with 200TDI Land Rover Engine and manual gear box. It has now been diagnosed with a blown Head Gasket, (carried out the smoke test) best result is a new Head Gasket. Worst result is a cracked block. Million dollar question, can I drop any 200TDI engine (assuming its manual) into my Range Rover? Oh its factory fitted Air Con. Will a Discovery 200TDI donor engine drop straight in?

You would be very unlucky if it needed more than a head gasket - very tough engine,fix it and spend more years trying to wear it out.

Disco 200tdi engines cheap, but trying to find one that isnt shagged will be a challenge.
As said do head gasket easy enough.

Delighted to find, the Head Gasket was shot, right at the back of number four cylinder. Popping like a good un. All sorted and back together with a clean and tidy head, running great.
