90 Steering HELP!!

Im currently rebuilding my 90, and power steering isnt working, Ive changed the box for a different one (its a six bolt system) and it doesnt work, i can steer it but there is no power assistance, its very very heavy. None of the ball joints are seized any other ideas? i took the pump off and it appeared to work fine?

are there any ways of properly checking if the pump is working?

unless you have hydraulic pressure gauge-no
(you could try increasing revs and seeing if steering improves)
power steering valving internal to steering box.
If it has been throughly bled after changing it- suspect pump.

i nearly had it but the high pressure fitting on the back of the pump started ****ing out due to it having the wrong washer set up on it, can anyone tell me what its supposed to have on it as the workshop manual doesnt show anything?

ok high pressure fitting fixed, now ive tried bleeding it again, as to no luck so im throwing in the towel and im gonna get a mechanic to come and do it for me as im far too lazy to keep having to lie underneath the dam thing
