90 Rear Diff

Hi

I have a 1986 90 which has a disco reae axle with discs on. this was done before i got it and believe it to be off a 200tdi Disco.
I have blown the rear diff while offroading at weekend

and was wondering if there is any significant difference in which diff i buy? do these run at different ratios?

ratios on disco axles (200/300) are all the same at 3.5, you just need to check whether you have 10 or 24 spline halfshafts (usually 10 on 200's)

Thanks for the quick reply, yeah i think they are 10 spline ones. Any reccomendations where to get one from and is it worth doing half shafts while in pieces? Thanks again

Might be as cheap to get another s/h disco back axle,keep the old one for spares. bb

i think so too as just went to remove and half shafts have twisted in the diff and wont come out so need new axle if anyone got one spare??? am willing to travel. thanks

Also check out propshaft make sure it slides properly on splines. If it dosnt can cause problems and leaks in transfer box and axle. bb
