Hi guys would a ninety brake pedal box fit a series 111 land rover Im wanting to convert to servo brakes and was thinking of using the 90 set up on a series 3 servo, Im sure Ive read somewhere that this will work unless I have dreamed this as it sounds way to simple. Has anyone done this and do you have any part no for me to look at Thanks all dont know what I would do without you all Cris

I guess you'll have to wait for someone with a bit more experience of the various models - all I can add is to look at the engine bay and the space between the bulkhead and the front wing. The six cylinder engined versions had different inner wings (if I remember this correctly) to make space for the master cylinder and booster affair...

...as for the actual bolting of the pedal box - that might not be a straight connect but wouldn't be too difficult to "adjust" I'm sure.

Might be easier to chuck a series servo in their and a vacuum pump out of a Audi. Wire the pump to the brake light switch next door and bobs a fanny.

Hi that would be the easiest way but unfortunately the pedal boxes for servos are like hens teeth

I have a 200 di in my series 3 so the vacuum pump wont be a problem

Remote servo is the way to go IMHO - easy to hide, though, I'd be fitting two if it were here ( one on the clutch too ! ).

Remote servo, @Disco1BFG is your man and will post a link to one fitted to his clutch system if your lucky.
:)

Cheeky sod :D:D:D

I seem to recall that the defender pedal tower is too tall and stuff hits the bonnet. I think samc88 tried one on his rebuild (the first thread in the series section) but it's been a while since I read it now so I could be talking utter pish.

I hope it will fit, the holes for the bulkhead are the same spacing. Pics attached of what I hope to fit.

I've shaved the back end of the top for bonnet clearance and cut a bit out of the pedal to both shorten and re angle so it matches the Series 3 pedal position. Mines a Type 50 8" servo which will replace a standard Series 3 6" servo. The 8" servo should provide close on double the assistance compared with the standard 6" servo. I think I may still need to cut the wing a bit to accommodate the larger servo. The other option I have is to fit the Type 50 servo to the Series pedal box via an adapter plate but I dont think I will have the clearance to the steering box. Later Defenders came with a Type 80 servo which is a larger diameter.
