90 and 110 off road...

Fair enough. Obviously ramp over and departure angle are slightly compromised too. Has anyoned owned both? Is it often a 110 gets stuck whilst a 90 blasts through, or is it only in the competition level stuff it matters?

Are you talk about just offroad ability or in general?

90 - for serious offroading
110 - for more stable road manners and long distance towing and bigger loads

Purely in the rough stuff.
I know the 90 is better, just not by how much.

Yep I've owned both a 110 N/A and a 90TD and unless you're into extreme offroading there's nothing to choose between the 2 Approach is 51deg on the 90 and 50 on the 110 departure is 26deg on the 110 and 35deg on the 90. breakover is 34deg on the 90 and 28deg for the 110.

the 90 is better but mainly when going around corners and not getting crossaxled but its mainly down to what tyres you are running and how skilled the driver is.
don't forget if you are driving a 110 and are following a 90 off road take a different line from it is as you have got a bigger back end on a 110 and can get stuck on it.

I have owned both 90 and 110. Obviously the 90 is better off road (lighter etc) but I have a 110 now and you can have just as much fun. Remember what you lose in off road capability you gain in ability to carry stuff and people. A 110 will go everywhere a 90 will but you may need to deploy the winch or take more shunts etc. Get wheel spacers and wind your stoppers in to improve turning circle.

It really depends what you call 'off road'. If you mean the middle of the sahara then 110 everytime because of the load carrying etc. If you mean a play day at sibbertoft then 90 its far more agile but do not be fooled into thinking you will walk over every 110 there some people that have driven their 110's 1000's of miles across continents and have a little bit of skill and experience.

Basically mate you need to be a bit more specific as to what you wanna do then we can recommend one or the other.

And don't forget sometimes the extra wheelbase is an advantage, you may still have one of the axles on the firm stuff in a 110 where the 90 has them both stuck in the mud!

I have a 110 and its pretty modified for off road, I go plenty of places that some 90's and defenders dont, and i have recovered others as well.

Its down to the driver alot of the time, and the setup of the vehicle. I have been stupid and driven into places i shouldnt have, as a result i got stuck.

I have big grizzly claw tyres on my 110, as a result it is very capable.

its really so marginal, and dependant on so many variables that you cant explain it - 90 is more capable purely on angles and greater maneuvreability

Thats true Hughesy. I had worn a/t's on my previous 110 and only got stuck a couple of times due to the weight I carried in the back.

ffs :D:D:D
