6th gear issue

Hi All
Have an 11 plate manual, all gears engage smoothly, jumps out of sixth when any load aplied, will remain in sixth if slight pressure is applied to shifter. Local Indy believes gear selector mechanism is to blame and suggests replacement, they have driven it but not investigated mechanically. Any advice from anyone who's experienced this issue is most welcome

It could be a gearbox issue, but if the if the garage think it's a gear link issue, then trust the garage.

Sounds like the detent spring in the gear cluster to me.

I'd get a reconditioned gearbox from Bell Engineering (give them a call to ask their opinion), and have your garage install that.
