Hi all, first time posting so apologies if this has been covered, did a brief search with no luck.... over the last 6 weeks Freelander TD4 auto has been slow to start, so it now takes maybe 3 -4 secs for it to fire when previously it was pretty much on the button. A recent service through main dealer showed up the fuel pump to be at fault, and with a little helpless pleading turns out it's the one under the rear wheelarch that is playing up... just wanted to sound you guys out and see if this sounds like the problem... thanks

If it was the low pressure pump under the arch it would give problems during high demand ie. climbing hills and at motorway speeds.

First check I would do is an injector leak test. A forum search should find posts on how to do it.

would go with chasers injector diagnosis. mine slowly got worse and worse until it failed to start, diagnostics followed by leak off test pointed to leaky injector.

good luck
