There is a tendency to drift to the left. Not a definate pulling, but you feel as if you have to continually apply slight clockwise pressure to the steering wheel. Varies slightly - seems to be 'sensitive' to different roads. I thought this had supposed to have been corrected on 'later models'.

First took it back within a week of purchase and have continually returned to Land Rover agents every few months without a solution. Guarantee work included steering rack (don't understand why), and a bearing on top of strut. I basically gave up and just put up with the problem.

Recently I asked my small, local (and very good) independent garage to service the car, and asked them to investigate the drifting to the left. Their conclusion - "the FOS wheel is set back 7mm". The car hasn't been in a crash.

Any thoughts before I go back to Land Rover and take up the battle?

It may not have been in a crash, but it may have been hammered off road, see if you can find out why the steering rack was worked on.

 Hello and welcome Col!

Firstly If the've sold you the motor in that condition, they want "*****n"
It sound like its bent, well the suspention anyhow! and if you've had it back to em they should have had it sorted or at least noticed it FFs
Put down in writing that you intend to take matters further,"cos you aint happy" Its dangerous and the motor aint fit for purpose, "Trades descripions Act" 1998??
Dont jump up and down, just yet, stay calm and ask them what they intend to do about it, show them a letter that you intent to send to trades description people, Landrover head office and anyone else yer can think of,And If Funds Permit RAC.. AA..Inspection would come in handy.
If yer dont get any joy from them, Then Its all out war, No Holds Guerilla tactics Stand outside the place (not on there property)with a big banner, nothing libelleous, Just that you bought that you bought a bust car from them and they wont sort it, Stop every one that goes into the spot and give em a flyer sayin the same thing and tell them yer WILL do it, show them what your going to show, All there Potential new customers

Make a Tw@t of yerself, or they will just keep fobbing you off

Couldn't have put it better me old mate. It definitetly sounds as if our friend has been ripped off by the garage, and I for one wouldn't be going anywhere let alone towing a bl..dy caravan with a split turbo hose!!

Lets hope the boys in blue don't stop him.

Mine used to pull to the left very slightly, not dangerously so but was always aware she wanted to kiss the gutter. I got used to it though, so did the child bride.
Mine was an X reg 2000 model.

Oh, I just read it again sober and it makes total sense now.
Lovely weather we've been having :D
