I'd appreciate any tips for getting these off.

Double tripple checked I've got all the bolts off. Water pump is still on though.

I can't for the life of me get it to move! Is there a trick to this or should I just keep pulling and jiggling with my hands?

Is there anywhere I can safely lever with a bit of wood or something.

Should I try heat?

I've Plusgased the join and the gasket and I'll leave that overnight now.

It's stuck fast and I'm running out of ideas. Any help gratefully received.

Managed it in the end.

Make sure you've got all the bolts out!

Make doubly sure you're looking at the right picture in RAVE. The engine overhaul manual shows a Thor FTC and the bolts are slightly different to the GEMS. The GEMS FTC is shown the the general Service Manual in RAVE.

I didn't realise this. You live and learn.

Now the fun starts. If your taking the cam out here is a tip in putting it back.
Screw the cam locking bolt in the end and clamp a pair of mole grips tight on the bolt end.
This will give you fiddle power to get the can in the last bearing shell in the end.
