I want to put a 4.2 and auto box out of an LSE into my 1978 two door play thing. Is it possible / how do I convert the 4.2 to carbs and a points dizzy?

Why dont you keep the original efi system ? The efi loom comes out in one piece through a big hole in the bulkhead and is separate to the rest of the electrical system. You can use the plastic fuel tank and pump assembly from the Lse - no more rusty tanks.Use the electronic ignition dizzy as well - no points to clean/adjust every 2-3 months.
The other thing is you are going to have a hell of a job jetting/tuning carbs to get the best out of the 4.2 motor. The Efi is a fairly simple system and very reliable, with the proper wiring diagram and a decent multimeter you can troubleshoot it without testbook etc - with so many late classics in breakers yards now it is also as cheap as carbs to buy bits for.
Plus all your mates will think you are a genius when you sort it all out.;)
