Hi , I am in the process of re fitting a 4.0 thor back into a disco 2.

I didn't take the engine out and looking for some assistance please. When mounting the coil pack are there spacers between the plenum and the coil packs , the issue I have is that without some form of spacer the fuel line does not allow the coil pack to seat.

Regards

John

Not that I recall, the pack sits on the top and bottom halves of the inlet (fitted separately) the fuel manifold pipe goes under the coil pack.

Get the lower inlet manifold in place and try the fit of the coil onto the two threaded pads. Don't tighten the screws as the coil pack needs to lean back so the upper manifold can fit underneath the two top coil mounts, then the screws can be fitted in the top and both lots tightened.

The fuel pipe should be in place and connected before the coil pack.

Peter

Thanks Peter I had another look last night and think the fuel pipe is slightly distorted ...I will follow your instructions to the letter .... a couple of other points ....in this area there is an additional pipe similar to the fuel pipe but black head not green any ideas?

Regards

John

Thanks Again Peter any suggestions on where would be best to sources bracketry from plenum ...throttle/cruise cable bracket and one from near side at rear.

cheers John

Peter,
I managed to obtain the 2 required brackets from a colleague last night, many thanks for all your assistance.

John

Hi Peter, some advice again please?

On the fuel rail loom (injectors) there are 2 wires 1 on each side with 5mm electrical rings fitted (sure they are green might be yellow) is 1 earthed onto fuel rail mounting bolt and the other on to bulkhead (conveniently place captive screw head)

many thanks
